Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing seeks an experienced engineer to act as a trusted technical advisor at strategic aerospace/defense customer sites, guiding DFM in reviews, NPI readiness, and program planning. You will translate manufacturability constraints into practical guidance in front of customer engineers.

The role blends deep technical engagement with commercial visibility, requiring on-site collaboration and a track record of delivering design-for-manufacturability success in complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
• DFM expertise in machined structures, sheet metal, composites, or electromechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and A&D program management environments.
• Ability to read and redline engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definitions.
• U.S. person status required (ITAR compliance).

Responsibilities

• Serve as an on-site technical advisor at strategic aerospace/defense customer locations.
• Deliver real-time DFM feedback in reviews and planning sessions across various assemblies.
• Spot design risks early and propose alternatives to preserve form, fit, and function.
• Build deep relationships with customer engineering, program management, and supply chain partners.
• Identify and route emerging work opportunities to internal teams with strategic alignment.
• Maintain a live opportunity funnel with scope, value, timeline, and probability.
• Support internal aerospace engineering with CAD development and process documentation when feasible.
