Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing seeks an on-site engineering leader with 15+ years in aerospace/defense to guide manufacturability in real time. You will translate constraints into practical guidance during customer design reviews and program planning, protecting commercial interests while delivering technical credibility.

This role blends deep technical engagement with strategic visibility, embedding in a client's environment and coordinating with internal engineering and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or related engineering.
• 15+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
• DFM expertise in machined structures, sheet metal, composites, or electromechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and A&D program management environments.
• Ability to read and redline engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definitions.
• Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable as a daily presence in a customer facility.
• U.S. person status required (ITAR compliance).

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site technical advisor at strategic aerospace/defense locations.
• Deliver real-time DFM feedback in reviews, NPI readiness meetings, and planning sessions.
• Spot design risks early and propose alternatives to improve producibility and cost.
• Build deep relationships with customer engineering, program management, and supply chain partners.
• Identify and route emerging work opportunities to internal teams and commercial strategy.
• Maintain a live opportunity funnel and brief collaborators on status and dynamics.
• Support internal aerospace engineering with CAD development and process docs when needed.
