Job summary

IMC Trading seeks a Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage on-premises Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure. You will work across teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable platforms that power IMC’s trading systems.

This role emphasizes automation, CI/CD, and storage/networking expertise, with a focus on resilience, RBAC, and operational excellence in an on-site Chicago environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven experience with Kubernetes, especially on-premises.
• Strong containerization and orchestration knowledge.
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Security best practices for Kubernetes environments.
• Automation scripting with Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage on-premises Kubernetes clusters for high availability.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps on Kubernetes using internal tooling.
• Collaborate to design and implement CI/CD pipelines for on-prem environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize clusters for performance and reliability.
• Implement RBAC, network policies, and secrets management for security.
• Develop automation scripts to standardize environments across clusters.
• Maintain and optimize storage and networking configurations.
• Manage cluster upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
• Stay updated with Kubernetes developments and apply relevant updates.
