Job summary

Lilly Genetic Medicines is seeking a collaborative, creative, and energetic lead for the oligosynthesis scale-up team. The role accelerates Lilly RNAi Therapeutics from pre-clinical to clinical development and requires expertise in large‑scale oligonucleotide synthesis and modern organic/nucleic acid chemistry.

The successful candidate will oversee a multi-disciplinary team, drive method development, and communicate outcomes across CMC and Development teams to deliver essential materials for key

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with extensive oligonucleotide synthesis experience (solid-phase)
• Experience supervising a scientific team to evaluate and optimize synthetic routes
• Proficiency with chromatographic purification and analytical instrumentation

Responsibilities

• Lead oligosynthesis scale-up team to accelerate RNAi Therapeutics development
• Coach, mentor and lead a multidisciplinary team
• Collaborate with RNAi discovery chemistry teams to scale from 150 µmol to 6 mmol scales
• Support lead drug candidate discovery and provide materials for key studies
• Develop and improve synthetic methods; address oligonucleotide challenges
• Prioritize work and meet tight deadlines with the team
