Job summary

Whitley Penn in Dallas seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the Oil & Gas Upstream accounting practice. You will work with the Energy Practice leader to design tools, systems, and processes and oversee the O&G Accounting group, including staffing, client service plans, and ensuring standards are met.

The role requires 8+ years in Oil & Gas accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with OGsys/WolfePak.

Qualifications

8+ years in Oil & Gas accounting, Upstream/E&P, with increasing complexity.
Experience setting up accounting functions/processes and implementation.
Familiarity with OGsys or WolfePak software.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting; CPA/APA preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Energy practice leader to develop Upstream accounting tools and processes.
Oversee Oil & Gas Accounting group operations, including org design and staffing.
Set up and implement accounting functions for O&G Upstream.
Develop client service plans and research technical issues for compliance.
Ensure deliverables meet professional standards and manage budgets.
Train associates, provide feedback, and contribute to firm development.
