Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation seeks an Offshore Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support day-to-day I&E on an offshore production platform. You will execute maintenance per safety standards, coordinate documentation, and work with interdisciplinary teams to minimize production stoppages.

The role requires knowledge of PTW systems, P&IDs, and PLCs, with hands-on experience in electrical equipment and power distribution aboard offshore installations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• THUET and T-2 Certificate required.
• Additional: Advanced Fire Fighting, Lifeboatman, First Aid/ CPR.
• Experience: at least one year on a GOM Oxy platform.
• Familiar with PTW systems and P&IDs.
• Experience with PLCs and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems to prevent downtime.
• Direct hands-on participation in instrumentation and electrical maintenance across the platform.
• Plan electrical projects including wiring, motors, transformers and power distribution.
• Maintain safety with PTW system and isolation procedures.
• Assist with repairing HVAC systems and galley equipment.
• Follow Emergency and Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure electrical work complies with state, federal, and company rules.
• Provide assistance to Mechanic and Compliance Technician.
• Read and interpret electronic blueprints and troubleshoot modules.
• Support PLC and networking drive control systems.
• Report issues impacting process safety, personnel safety, and environment.
• Assist with regulatory testing, inspections and paperwork.
