Job summary

Acteon is seeking a Senior Engineer in Houston to work on offshore energy projects, collaborating with experienced engineers, PMs, and clients to solve complex challenges across risers, pipelines, subsea systems, and installation operations.

The role offers ownership of technical work scopes, growth through hands-on experience, and opportunities to mentor graduates while expanding expertise across offshore disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Ocean Engineering.
• 5–10 years of offshore engineering experience.
• Experience in SURF projects.
• Familiarity with API, DNV, and ISO offshore design standards, preferred.
• Master's degree or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering analyses and design assessments for offshore pipeline, riser, and subsea projects
• Develop practical solutions to complex offshore challenges
• Perform production and drilling riser analysis
• Perform pipeline design including thermal expansion and buckling, pipeline walking and free span assessments
• Structural analysis of subsea hardware and foundations
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and design documentation
• Take responsibility for delivering assigned project scopes from initiation through final delivery
• Work closely with project managers to plan and execute engineering activities
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives
• Contribute to technical reviews and project decision‑making
• Opportunities for real world experience providing technical support during offshore installation
• Participate in client meetings and technical workshops
• Present engineering findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with clients to understand project challenges and develop effective solutions
• Build trusted relationships through technical excellence and responsiveness
• Learn from industry-leading specialists across risers, pipelines, and subsea systems
• Develop technical and project leadership skills through increasing responsibility
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers while continuing to expand your own expertise
