Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to own and evolve the offensive tooling ecosystem and lead advanced adversarial operations. The role combines hands‑on code work with strategic direction, mentoring operators and driving repeatable, high‑quality execution.

You will partner with cross‑functional teams to scale offensive capabilities, align to enterprise security priorities, and push innovative approaches in red team and threat emulation across enterprise and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Information Security and/or Cybersecurity.
• 7+ years of direct experience in offensive operations and tactics.
• 5+ years of experience building or utilizing offensive tooling in real‑world environments.
• 3+ years of experience leading complex technical engagements.
• 3+ years of experience in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, C#, PowerShell, Golang).
• 3+ years in technical writing and post‑engagement debriefs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, integration, and evolution of offensive tooling and capabilities.
• Establish best practices for tooling design, automation, and standards.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies into offensive operations.
• Lead or support adversary emulation and red team engagements.
• Design and execute advanced testing scenarios across enterprise and cloud environments.
• Mentor operators and engineers in tooling usage and problem‑solving.
• Translate offensive findings into defensive improvements in collaboration with security teams.
• Research emerging threats and techniques to continuously improve capabilities.
