Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Sales Business Development Manager to grow ocean freight business. You will drive new client acquisition and expand relationships with existing customers, leveraging consultative selling to match DHL capabilities to client needs.

You will collaborate with Product teams, Trade Lane Managers, and other channels to deliver integrated solutions, workshops, and a seamless handover from sales to operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sales experience in forwarding/ocean freight.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficient with CRM and MS Office.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to travel and meet customers off-site.

Responsibilities

• Win, retain and develop medium-sized business customers through hunting activity and winning bids.
• Maximize sales growth from existing customers with new strategies and targets.
• Build rapport with customers and collaborate with Product, Trade Lane Managers, and other sales channels.
• Recommend solutions based on customer needs using industry knowledge.
• Organize and support customer workshops on imports, new offerings, and training.
• Collaborate across Deutsche Post DHL sales channels to offer a full supply chain of services.
• Collect customer info for RFIs/RFPs/RFQs and prepare implementation documents.
• Manage all sales process and CRM data daily.
