Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Obsolescence Management (DMSMS) to support a major defense and aerospace program. This on-site role in Berkeley, MO requires an active Secret Clearance and deep expertise in lifecycle management of electronic components.

You will lead obsolescence initiatives, perform forecasting, mitigation analyses, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure long‑term component availability across legacy and new platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
• 7+ years for Master’s or 4+ years for PhD accepted, ABET preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in obsolescence management/DMSMS and lifecycle support.

Responsibilities

• Lead obsolescence-related activities across product teams and programs.
• Evaluate alternate components and assess data for replacements.
• Forecast obsolescence risks using predictive tools and surveys.
• Develop mitigation strategies balancing cost, schedule and technical impact.
• Prepare engineering reports, plans, and customer-facing docs.
• Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, quality, and program stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate obsolescence risks across multiple lines.
• Support SOW changes and negotiations affecting deliverables and cost.
• Contribute to cost estimation and execution planning for projects.
• Plan and coordinate engineering resources across lifecycles.
• Track performance and drive process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements and program needs.
• SOW & Change Management — Evaluate impacts and support modifications.
