Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Obsolescence Management (DMSMS) to support a major defense and aerospace program. The role is onsite in Berkeley, MO and requires an active Secret clearance.

You will lead obsolescence activities within a Component Engineering group, evaluate alternate components, forecast lifecycle risks, and coordinate across engineering, supply chain, and program teams to deliver mitigation strategies and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Physics, Math, or related field.
• 10+ years of Obsolescence Management / DMSMS experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, etc.)
• ABET accreditation preferred
• Active Secret clearance
• Experience in large, structured engineering organizations

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and qualify alternate replacements for obsolete components.
• Perform obsolescence forecasting to anticipate risks.
• Develop mitigation strategies balancing cost, schedule and tech impact.
• Prepare engineering reports and obsolescence plans.
• Lead obsolescence activities across product teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, quality, and program stakeholders.
• Support SOW changes and cost/schedule deliveries.
• Contribute to cost estimation and planning for engineering projects.
• Plan and coordinate engineering resources across lifecycles.
• Track performance and drive process improvements.
