Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Early Career Electrical Component Engineer to support a major aerospace and defense client in Berkeley, MO. The role centers on obsolescence management and DMSMS, working with experienced engineers to sustain a broad portfolio of systems.

The position is fully onsite in Berkeley, MO and requires a secret level clearance. You will evaluate components, forecast obsolescence, and prepare technical documentation for government customers and IPTs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of basic electrical components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors).
• Ability to evaluate alternate components using datasheets and supplier docs.
• Understanding of obsolescence concepts and alternative part evaluation.
• Proven ability to work within a structured engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical/electronic components and identify replacements for obsolete parts.
• Perform obsolescence forecasting using surveillance tools and OEM surveys.
• Monitor GIDEP alerts and report obsolescence status to teams and customers.
• Develop obsolescence mitigation options and perform business case analyses.
• Prepare technical materials detailing DMSMS issues and resolutions for stakeholders.
• Support obsolescence meetings with internal and external partners.
