Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Berkeley, MO is seeking a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Obsolescence Management (DMSMS) to support a major defense and aerospace program. You will join a highly skilled Component Engineering group responsible for ensuring long‑term component availability and mitigating obsolescence risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Obsolescence Management / DMSMS.
• ABET accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Component Analysis — evaluate alternate replacements using datasheets and specs.
• Obsolescence Forecasting — lifecycle monitoring to anticipate risks.
• DMSMS Mitigation — develop strategies balancing cost, schedule, and technical impact.
• Technical Documentation — prepare reports, obsolescence plans, and customer docs.
• Project Engineering Leadership — lead obsolescence activities across teams.
• Systems Knowledge — apply aerospace/defense architectures to component selection.
• Risk Identification — assess obsolescence risks across product lines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration — partner with engineering, supply chain, quality, and program.
• SOW & Change Management — evaluate impacts and negotiate modifications.
• Proposal & Planning Support — assist in cost estimation and execution planning.
• Resource Planning — coordinate engineering resources across lifecycle.
• Performance Tracking — measure against baselines and drive improvements.
