Job summary

CVS Health Enterprise Technology is seeking a Senior Observability Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale observability services using Go, Python, and Java.

You will lead the adoption of OpenTelemetry, collaborate with SRE, Cloud Engineering, CI/CD, and Platform teams to deliver reliable, secure telemetry pipelines across multi-cloud environments and drive developer experience and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of observability practices (SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, alerting, incidents).
• 3+ years building production-grade backend services in Go and/or Java.
• 3+ years implementing OpenTelemetry, including instrumentation patterns.
• 3+ years with cloud-native platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD).
• 3+ years with public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• 2+ years designing and scaling distributed data pipelines.
• 2+ years with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Develop observability platform components using Java Spring Boot, Python, Go.
• Design, build, and operate core observability platform services.
• Support OpenTelemetry adoption across the enterprise, including libraries and conventions.
• Scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces) for performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Cloud teams to establish reliability standards.
