Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking a Senior CAD Application Engineer to develop tools and workflows that convert NX CAD models into usable data for analysis and control systems. You will work on mechanical designs, tolerance stacks, and coordinate systems, while building automation in Python to access NX data.

You will collaborate with top scientists and engineers in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, applying ASME Y14.100/Y14.5 standards and NXOpen API to create robust, scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM required.
• Strong programming experience in Python and scripting.
• Experience with NXOpen API, Linux, and Git.
• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complete mechanical designs including tolerance stacks and assembly procedures.
• Develop CAD design and software workflows bridging NX CAD to engineering tools.
• Create software automation tools to interact with NX data from Python.
• Integrate NX model parameters and geometry in scientific software tooling.
• Use NXOpen API for coordinate transformations and single source of truth access.
• Ensure CAD designs meet industry and internal standards.
• Collaborate in a matrix CAD team to support functional groups.
