Job summary

LG Electronics USA is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for Motors to analyze field returns, coordinate teardown and NVH testing, and drive root-cause investigations for EV/Hybrid motor systems. You will review customer data, perform electrical and mechanical assessments, and prepare technical reports for customers and internal teams.

The role requires 5+ years in motor/EV quality roles, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in quality engineering, field failure analysis, or motor/EV powertrain domains.
• Ability to diagnose motor quality issues from multiple data sources and select appropriate analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Analyze field return and warranty motors using customer data to form initial failure hypotheses.
• Coordinate teardown, electrical, mechanical, insulation, and NVH testing as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis and document findings with technical reports for customers and internal teams.
• Communicate progress and results to stakeholders including suppliers and manufacturing plants.
• Coordinate NVH testing with internal/external partners and interpret test results.
