The Pittsboro Center for Active Living is seeking a detail‑oriented team member to oversee day‑to‑day Congregate Nutrition operations, assist with Meals on Wheels bag prep, and ensure meal service runs smoothly with volunteers.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and at least two years’ experience with older adults, preference for food service experience; candidates must obtain ServSafe/Safe Plates and hold a NC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least two (2) years’ experience working with older adults or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Working knowledge of the relevant Aging Services program policies, procedures, and grants.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences and educational levels.
• Basic computer skills in operating Microsoft Word, Outlook, search engines such as Google Chrome, and other commonly used electronic programs.

Responsabilités

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Congregate Nutrition site located in the Pittsboro Center for Active Living.
• Completes kitchen opening and closing procedures and ensures dining room is properly set up.
• Ensures kitchen and dining space are clean and safe per Health Inspector standards.
• Checks delivered food items and records temperatures.
• Assists with preparing Meals on Wheels delivery bags for volunteers.
• Serves daily Congregate Nutrition meals with help from volunteers.
• Maintains kitchen supply inventory and notifies manager of needed items.
• Interacts with participants daily to create a welcoming environment.
• Ensures participants are registered and signed into MySeniorCenter before meals.
