Job summary

Mt. Pleasant House is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents at Mt. Pleasant House.

You will support meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to dietary plans and residents’ preferences. This role emphasizes sanitation, food safety, and inventory support in a collaborative kitchen and dining environment. Excellent communication and genuine care for the elderly help create a welcoming dining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas, wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup and dining experience for residents.
• Food safety: follow all food safety protocols, including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, report shortages to the Dietary Manager.
• Team collaboration: work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and respect individual preferences during meals.
