Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in a food service is preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance during setup and serving, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, proper storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, notify Dietary Manager of shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences.
