Job summary

Clayton House in Clayton, NC is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents.

You will assist with meal prep and service, maintain sanitation, support residents at meals, and follow all food-safety protocols while collaborating with the dietary team.

No heavy experience is required, but excellent communication and a compassionate attitude toward the elderly are valued. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Resident support: provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food safety: follow all food safety protocols and sanitation practices.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify shortages.
• Team collaboration: work with the dietary team to run kitchen and dining areas.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and meet residents' preferences.
