Job summary

Clayton House in Clayton, NC is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents.

You will assist with meal prep and service, maintain sanitation, support residents at meals, and follow all food-safety protocols while collaborating with the dietary team.

No heavy experience is required, but excellent communication and a compassionate attitude toward the elderly are valued. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents' individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
