Edenton House is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and provide nutritious meals to residents. You will assist with meal preparation, portioning, serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience in a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in food service is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols including proper storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify the Dietary Manager of shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences during meals.
