Job summary

Actalent in Valencia, CA is seeking a Senior Formulator to lead end-to-end formulation and commercialization of dietary supplement products. You will oversee benchtop development, scale-up, stability testing, pilot batches, and manufacturing support across multiple dosage forms.

The role requires 4+ years in nutraceutical/product development within regulated environments, with strong formulation science and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline and 4+ years in nutraceuticals or dietary supplements.
• Experience taking products from concept to commercialization in regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of formulation science and excipient selection for multiple dosage forms.
• Experience with GMP environments and familiarity with 21 CFR Part 111.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize formulations for tablets, capsules, powders, gummies, softgels, and other delivery systems.
• Lead product development from pre-formulation through commercialization with scalable, compliant formulations.
• Design benchtop, pilot, scale-up, and verification studies to support tech transfer and manufacturing.
• Develop stability protocols and evaluate results to ensure shelf-life requirements.
• Support technology transfer and manufacturing implementation for new/existing products.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams on timelines.
• Mentor junior formulators and ensure best practices in the lab.
