Job summary

Excelsior Nutrition Inc. seeks a dedicated R&D Formulation Specialist to support contract manufacturing of nutraceuticals and dietary supplements.

You will handle FPS processes, formulation, bill of materials maintenance, and SOPs for new product processes. The role emphasizes formulating, testing batches, evaluating alternatives, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring product specifications meet customer expectations while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related physical science.
• 2–3 years of formulation experience in personal care products, preferably in contract manufacturing.
• Ability to multitask handling 4–5 bench projects at a time.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer explanations and requests into chemical components and formula combinations.
• Meet with suppliers and experts for product information and developments.
• Assemble chemicals into lab batches and test formulas for efficacy and performance.
• Modify and reformulate materials to meet customer expectations while minimizing costs.
• Enter and review formulas in computer systems; troubleshoot formula issues.
• Ensure deadlines are met to support production demands and launches.
• Maintain professional expertise through ongoing study and development.
• Communicate progress, problems and needs with management, vendors, and customers.
