Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Sylvester Cancer Center Department of Pediatric Oncology is seeking a full-time Senior Nurse Educator. This role coordinates and provides clinical education to nursing and patient care staff and promotes evidence-based practice within a specialized patient group.

The incumbent collaborates with medical providers and unit management to plan, implement, and deliver curricula, and ensures adherence to Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required; MSN preferred.
• Valid Florida RN license.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• CPHON, BMTCN or CPN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and conducts educational programs for nursing staff.
• Provides educational leadership to enhance patient care.
• Assess and facilitate educational support according to nursing needs.
• Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in planning and delivery of curricula.
• Develops clinical skills activities within preceptorship models and analyzes data to improve quality standards.
• Coordinates education to ensure proper use of equipment and supplies.
