Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute seeks a Nurse Educator to develop, maintain, and present education materials for clinical staff in oncology and biotherapy. You will plan, direct, and evaluate education needs in line with accepted practice standards and trial initiatives.

You will collaborate across nursing leadership to implement onboarding, competency assessment, and pilot in‑service education programs, while maintaining adherence to quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida.
• OCN certification or able to acquire within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum five years’ experience with hematology/oncology patients.
• Minimum one year experience facilitating educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Assess onboarding program effectiveness to ensure oncology foundation and standardization of training.
• Initiate skills development programs and monitor trends for quality standards.
• Support annual competency evaluations and skills checkoffs.
• Act as a clinical resource for staff and mentors for new hires.
• Meet with new hires and preceptors during orientation to ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with nurse managers on site visits for competency re‑education and standardization of workflows.
• Develop procedures supporting standards and directives.
• Maintain relationships with preceptors and mentor education programs.
• Attend town halls, department meetings and conferences to stay current with policies.
• Provide direct patient care at least one day per month to maintain practice.
