Job summary

RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Nuclear Qualification Engineer to support ASME QME-1 qualification of nuclear safety-related mechanical equipment, with a focus on hydraulic control unit scram valves.

The role requires independent engineering judgment to assess qualification methods, test configurations, and acceptance criteria, coordinating with engineering teams, suppliers, and external labs. Remote work with occasional travel is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years of nuclear engineering or related experience.
• Experience with ASME QME-1 or related nuclear qualification standards.
• Experience with valves, actuators, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and associated components.
• Experience developing or reviewing qualification plans, specifications, procedures, and evidence packages.

Responsibilities

• Support qualification of valve assemblies, actuators, pilot valves, hydraulic/pneumatic interfaces, accumulators, and stored-energy systems.
• Review qualification specifications, plans, test procedures, procurement inputs, test reports, and evidence packages.
• Evaluate test article configuration, qualification boundaries, and acceptance criteria.
• Assess interfaces, connections, mounting, tubing, test fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition setups.
• Review testing procedures including functional, leakage, response-time, endurance, seismic, environmental aging, and radiation aging.
