Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal or Sr Principal Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer for the Sentinel program in Roy, Utah. You will decompose safety requirements, allocate them to design teams, and provide SE expertise across design, integration and testing of a next-generation ICBM system.

Role includes DoD/DOE interface, MBSE practices, and verification of requirements with a focus on security and reliability. Relocation may be available and competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline and 5 years of related experience; or Master's with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• 1 year of experience with electrical or software analyses/test; verification of requirements
• 1 year of experience with tools: DOORs, Cameo, TeamCenter, GIT, JAZZ, NX, Capitol

Responsibilities

• Perform decomposition of DoD safety manuals into requirements and allocate to design teams
• Provide systems engineering to design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system
• Participate in planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical/electrical/integrated systems
• Evaluate the physical security design based on DoD Safety manuals
• Interface with DoD and DOE to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems
• Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to evaluate and analyze design
• Learn MBSE as a niche discipline spanning Nuclear Power and Munitions
