Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, CS, or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in nuclear surety of strategic weapon systems or related facilities.
• Active Secret clearance with potential to obtain Top Secret.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to support government and contractor meetings.
• U.S. citizenship required for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lab’s focal point for nuclear surety engineering, applying systems engineering to improve design.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with nuclear surety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and validate systems against nuclearsurety requirements.
• Review nuclear surety requirements and apply best practices for traceability.
• Provide technical guidance on NWS safety to DoD sponsors.
• Conduct independent safety evaluations to influence design improvements.
• Review certification processes to ensure objective evidence is accessible to sponsors.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation for nuclear systems.
• Prepare and present technical products, reports, and deliverables to sponsors.
