Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Nuclear Principal Engineer to provide safety analysis and design support at Wolf Creek Generating Station in Burlington, Kansas. The role combines remote work with two onsite days weekly, reporting to the Manager, Integrated Site Engineering.

The position requires a nuclear engineering or physics background and 10+ years of experience, plus unescorted access. A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Nuclear preferred) or Physics required.
• Minimum 10+ years of applicable experience.
• Perform analyses related to fuel reloads including core/thermal hydraulic design, LOCA, non-LOCA and containment transient analysis.
• Unescorted access at Wolf Creek Generating Station will be required.
• Develop procedures, processes, and methods for implementing technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety analysis engineering efforts at Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS).
• Perform complex engineering design and analyses in the nuclear industry and provide input for technical products and services.
• Support transition of WCNOC core design and safety analysis methodology to Westinghouse methodology.
• Directly responsible for daily WCNOC customer satisfaction in fuel reload design and safety analysis.
