Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking a Sr Quality Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN to ensure the Project Quality Plan is implemented across design, procurement, construction, testing, and operations for the US Navy Spent Fuel Handling Project and/or Oklo-Aurora.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will coordinate QA activities, lead corrective actions, perform root cause analyses, mentor staff, and maintain project quality documentation while upholding safety and excellence in a dynamic nuclear

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline preferred; experience may substitute.
• 7–10+ years of quality or related experience ideal.
• 1-year nuclear experience required.
• Knowledge of standards like NQA-1, ISO-9001, Six Sigma, NRC guides preferred.
• Proficient in problem solving and causal analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of understanding of company standards and guidelines.
• Coordinate quality activities across engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and operations.
• Initiate, implement, and close corrective action reports.
• Facilitate root/apparent cause analysis.
• Plan and perform quality assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of District Quality Manuals and project requirements.
• Identify potential quality incidents before they arise.
• Participate in project activities and provide quality input.
• Assist in internal quality audits and document reviews.
• Provide admin support for audits and monthly reviews.
• Deliver quality presentations.
• Disseminate quality information in meetings.
• Mentor project staff and promote a culture of quality.
• Draft and maintain project quality documents and metrics; collect data and perform analysis.
