Job summary

X-energy TRISO-X in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Construction Quality Engineer to oversee quality across construction work packages, ensuring compliance with project specifications, RFCs, and built drawings. You will implement QA plans, conduct inspections, coordinate with contractors, and maintain audit-ready records while promoting safety and quality culture on site.

The role requires a BS/BA in a relevant field and ASQ or equivalent certification; 5–10 years in construction QA/QC, with ISO 9001

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in civil engineering, construction management, nuclear engineering or similar.
• Current ASQ/ASCE AWS CWI or ANSI Level II equivalent certification preferable.
• 5+ years for Level III, 10+ years for Level IV in construction quality oversight.
• Experience in full-time QA/QC management on design-build contracts.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and quality system implementation.
• Strong understanding of nonconformance, inspection, and tooling.
• Nuclear construction or chemical plant construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads quality oversight for multiple work packages across disciplines.
• Advises construction leadership on risk, trends, and quality improvements.
• Develops QA plans, method statements, and ITPs that meet standards.
• Verifies materials and equipment are fit for purpose and properly certified.
• Maintains audit-ready QA/QC documentation and records.
• Coordinates ITP witness/hold points with contractors and authorities.
• Performs audits, inspections, and oversight-record reviews.
• Supports safety and quality culture on site.
• Assists in subcontractor qualification assessments.
• Attends construction status meetings and produces oversight reports.
