Job summary

UC Irvine Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine technologist to perform in vivo and in vitro procedures, including PET, Nuc Med, and CT imaging on a PET/CT scanner. You will administer radiopharmaceuticals, ensure patient care, and operate gamma cameras and related equipment, with on-call responsibilities.

The role requires two years of NM experience, safety with ALARA, current ARRT/NMTCB certifications, BLS, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT
  • Knowledge of State regulatory radiation safety practices and ALARA
  • Current and active CRT, CTNM, ARRT® and ARRT(N) or NMTCB
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to train, monitor and maintain compliance in the department
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be on-call and work rotational shifts as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals
  • Operate and QC stationary and portable scintillation equipment (gamma cameras, well counters, dose calibrators)
  • Perform PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanner
  • Assist with scanner qualification for research trials and create study protocols
  • Administrative duties under supervision and ensure timely patient throughput
