Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a full range of diagnostic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring quality patient care and timely throughput. Responsibilities include operating SPECT and gamma cameras, performing QC, and developing study protocols under the Imaging Manager and Medical Director.

The role requires California licensure, ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification, and BLS; on‑call duties including evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an AMA school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • California NM Tech certification and current California Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
  • Current ARRT(N) or NMTCB license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • At least 1 year of acute hospital experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine Procedures; computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full range of Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related substances.
  • Ensure quality patient care and timely throughput of exams.
  • Operate and perform QC on stationary and portable imaging equipment (SPECT, gamma cameras).
  • Perform scans to aid scanner qualifications for accreditation.
  • Create and program protocol settings including administration, imaging, and reformatting under supervision.
