Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia seeks a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology procedures, following protocols and ALARA principles.

You will supervise exams for all ages, ensure quality control, review requisitions, explain procedures to patients, and post-process images using Syngo Via, while mentoring students and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program (JRCNMT/NMTCB).
• 1 year of experience required.
• Licensure: ARDMS/ARRT CNMT or NMTCB; BLS upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs all nuclear medicine exams on patients of all ages with correct positioning and protocol.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Determines quality of radiopharmaceuticals received from suppliers.
• Explains procedures and safety precautions to patients and assists during tests.
• Protects self, patient and staff during exams.
• Maintains records, licenses and files per federal/state regulations.
• Maintains proficiency in advanced imaging and post-processing.
• Assist with planning multiple diagnostics in proper sequence.
• Acts as a mentor for students and junior technologists.
• Ensures department meets regulatory requirements.
• Post-processes imaging using Syngo Via.
