Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Generation) - Nuclear to lead complex nuclear assignments, from operating-plant modifications to new reactor programs. You will own engineering scopes, influence design decisions, and collaborate with clients, suppliers, and project teams to deliver safe, constructible solutions.

The role requires depth in mechanical disciplines, PE licensure, and at least 10 years of experience including 7 in nuclear.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, including at least 7 years in nuclear power.
  • Experience in nuclear mechanical areas such as plant systems, mechanical equipment, piping or reactor components.
  • Experience delivering calculations, specifications, drawings, reports, and design change packages.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and deliver mechanical engineering assignments per quality programs, codes, standards, and schedule.
  • Lead mechanical engineering for operating facilities, plant upgrades, new nuclear projects, and outages.
  • Develop design criteria, basis, calculations, specs, datasheets, and technical evaluations.
  • Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, process, civil, electrical, and safety teams.
  • Provide guidance to less-experienced engineers and participate in project planning and proposals.
