Job summary

Actalent is seeking a seasoned Field Engineer for the Natrium advanced reactor project at Kemmerer, WY. This senior SME role provides leadership in field engineering for nuclear and large industrial construction, coordinating with design, quality, and construction teams.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in field/construction engineering, a Wyoming PE or eligible license, and experience with NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50. The role is fully onsite in Kemmerer with a pay range of $80–$100/hr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, incl. 8+ years in field/construction engineering on nuclear/power/industrial projects.
• Wyoming PE license or license convertible to WY preferred.
• NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 familiarity preferred.
• Experience with work-packages, constructability review, and field change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership on field engineering for nuclear and industrial construction at Kemmerer site.
• Review work packages, constructability, sequencing, installation methods, temporary works, and rigging/heavy-lift plans.
• Lead resolution of field-originated issues including RFIs, field change requests, nonconformances, and design-field conflicts.
• Coordinate dispositions with design engineering and quality teams.
• Lead field walkdowns and verify installed conditions against design and as-built docs.
• Verify progress work transferred between contractors and recommend acceptance/remediation.
• Represent engineering at field coordination meetings, hold points, and inspections.
• Identify field-driven cost and schedule risks and advise on changes.
• Assign and mentor field engineering staff; ensure safety and stop-work when needed.
