Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Reston, VA is seeking a driven project manager to oversee multi‑discipline engineering, licensing, environmental and PM activities for nuclear power upgrades, including SMR work. You will coordinate with internal/external teams to drive lifecycle execution, governance, risk and client satisfaction.

Essential skills include BA/ABET engineering, 5+ years in technical fields, and strong project leadership with superb communication.

Qualifications

• BS from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years in a technical field (engineering, construction, planning).
• Experience with project management and coordination.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written, verbal and intercultural communication skills.
• Experience with presenting technical reports virtually and in-person.
• Experience with feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage project execution, coordinating resources from each discipline.
• Lead all aspects of project execution including safety, schedule, budget, reporting and client experience.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and stakeholders.
• Support KPI reporting for schedule, budget and dashboards.
• Identify and control project risks and changes.
• Communicate with stakeholders to resolve constraints.
• Direct the project team to achieve client and company goals.
• Mentor project team members with timely feedback.
• Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results.
• Develop and implement engineering and PM solutions within contract scope, time, and budget.
• Prepare/review reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and conduct site visits as required.
