Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Component Engineer for the Maintenance Support Engineer Team. The role focuses on managing mechanical components to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to programs.

Responsibilities include monitoring performance, coordinating with design, maintenance, and operations, and driving testing and troubleshooting for emergent issues. Ideal candidates will have experience with turbine/generator operation, PM and PdM program evaluation, and strong regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET accredited program; Master’s degree in engineering may substitute.
• Minimum of 4 years engineering experience.
• Experience with turbine/generator systems preferred.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the site subject matter for the Station.
• Monitor and trending equipment performance.
• Interface with vendors to ensure repairs and refurbishments are properly managed.
• Direct onsite testing and troubleshooting activities for emergent issues.
• Coordinate cross functionally with other departments to ensure concerns, schedules, budgeting and related issues are properly managed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained for NRC and industry standards.
• Evaluate Fleet Operating Experience and industry learnings to improve Component performance.
• Evaluate Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive (PdM) program performance and recommend performance based adjustments.
