ATS Industrial Automation in Lewis Center, OH is seeking a Senior Control Hardware Designer to drive electrical and pneumatic system design for world-class automation equipment. You will design and commission hardware using PLCs, robotics, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, reliable automation for nuclear project customers.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, systems, or computer engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in electrical controls design, robotics, machine building and automation systems.
• Strong electrical problem solving and programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics control systems and machine operation.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and pneumatic schematics per project requirements.
• Debug and commission electrical/pneumatic systems on-site at customer locations.
• Select, test and integrate hardware and software components such as robots, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers.
• Improve methods for integrating controls technology to enhance safety and reduce cost.
• Ensure labor and material budgets and delivery dates are met.
• Provide accurate documentation for each project and advise customers on technical issues.
