Job summary

ATS Industrial Automation is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer II- Nuclear in Lewis Center, OH. You will design and deliver high-reliability engineered systems for nuclear and regulated industrial applications, translating customer and regulatory requirements into robust designs across the full lifecycle.

Join a multidisciplinary team, gain exposure to concept through commissioning, and help mentor junior engineers while aligning with ISO 9001 requirements and ATS standards.

Qualifications

• College degree in mechanical engineering, technology or equivalent experience.
• Two to six (2-6) years of automation experience.
• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, 3D Solid Works or similar CAD systems.
• Proficient with computers, including AutoCAD, Solid Works, Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design cam, servo, and air operated stations and to make changes to existing designs. Execute cam (drive) design.
• Ensure the design is functional, robust, and cost effective.
• Innovate and use good judgment to incorporate ATS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Set and maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
• Support and participate in quality management program.
• Create detail drawings, assembly drawings, bill of materials, organize release packages, and update drawings.
• Participate in internal and customer design reviews.
• Prepare pneumatic and timing diagrams and select appropriate sensors.
• Work with suppliers to find/develop functional and economical solutions to design issues.
