Job summary

ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer II for Nuclear applications in Lewis Center, Ohio. You will design and deliver high-reliability automated systems for nuclear and regulated industrial projects, translating requirements into robust system designs across the lifecycle.

Role includes design reviews, risk mitigation, and mentoring early career engineers, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and compliance within an ISO 9001 framework.

Qualifications

• College degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2-6 years of automation experience.
• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D Solid Works or similar CAD systems.
• Proficient with computers including AutoCAD, Solid Works, and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Design cam, servo, and air operated stations and to make changes to existing designs; execute cam design.
• Ensure the design is functional, robust, and cost effective.
• Incorporate ATS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Set and maintain departmental goals in line with company objectives.
• Support and participate in quality management program.
• Create detail drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, release packages, and update drawings.
• Participate in internal and customer design reviews.
• Prepare pneumatic and timing diagrams and select sensors.
