Job summary

Humanoid in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior NPI Mechanical Engineer to establish our mechanical NPI practices from concept through early production readiness.

You will lead NPI activities, review designs for manufacturability, and own gate‑based deliverables. This hands‑on role requires coordinating with design, quality, supply chain, and contract manufacturers to scale production while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including significant NP I roles.
• Experience scaling hardware to high-volume production and establishing NPI from scratch.
• Proven track record taking products from concept to mass production in robotics or complex electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA/DFT, GD&T, and manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, machining, casting).
• Hands-on quality methods such as FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis, and SPC.
• Experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing, qualification, and issue resolution.
• Experience standing up or scaling manufacturing lines at contract manufacturers.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical NPI activities across the full product lifecycle from concept to production.
• Partner with design engineering to review designs for manufacturability, assembly, and testability.
• Define and stand up a gate process and own mechanical deliverables at each gate.
• Coordinate with electrical, industrial design, quality, supply chain, and program management to keep programs on schedule.
