Job summary

Teradyne, a global test and automation leader, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer for the Nextest division in San Jose, CA. Join a tight-knit NPI team to bring new products to market quickly and efficiently.

You will collaborate with design engineering, define manufacturing processes for outsourced products, drive DFM reviews, develop fixture design, and mentor assembly personnel while supporting global suppliers and maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• Project management and leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical infrastructure (cabling, harnessing, grounding, breakers, relays, PLCs).
• Experience with SolidWorks and CAD applications.
• Structured problem solving with urgency.
• Motivated in fast-paced environments.
• Willing to work with global suppliers across time zones.
• Able to travel approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on product build process with design engineering.
• Develop and implement new assembly instructions procedures.
• Develop Manufacturing Process Strategy for outsourced products.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews through New Product Introduction process.
• Manufacturing fixture design including validation, build, documentation, and handoff to high volume production.
• Create and Implement Engineering Change Notices to update BOMs and drawings.
• Monitor and drive quality standards at suppliers and internally.
• Develop and provide training to assembly personnel and contract manufacturers.
