Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician at our Nextest Memory Test Division location in San Jose, CA, to support prototype assembly, testing, and modification of electro-mechanical assemblies. You will work directly with engineering to assemble, debug, and refine components essential to next-generation test solutions.

The role requires 5+ years hands-on experience, an associate degree or equivalent training, basic electrical theory, and strong ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• Associate degree or vocational/technical training.
• Basic electrical engineering theory.
• Experience with safety protocols around hazardous voltages (120VAC, 208VAC, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Hands-on set-up and testing experience.
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Teamwork oriented.
• Familiarity with machine shop practices and tools.
• SolidWorks or CAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and debug prototypes with engineering.
• Build/modify/repair cable harnesses per diagrams and BOMs.
• Rework mechanical components using hand/power tools.
• Troubleshoot systems using multimeter, schematics.
• Provide feedback to engineering on design issues.
• Assist with installation of testers and lab equipment.
• Manage lab supplies and maintain lab areas.
