Job summary

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, is seeking a Sr Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - NPI for our site in Austin, TX. The role focuses on taking new products into manufacturing, defining how they are built and tested, and carrying work from concept through qualification and production launch.

You will partner daily with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and suppliers, setting the technical direction for engineers and technicians and leading root-cause investigations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 8+ years in manufacturing, test, automation, or NPI engineering, including at least one product carried from development through commercial launch.
• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience developing and qualifying manufacturing test methods and equipment.
• Led automation or capital equipment projects of $200K+ from concept through installation and acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing readiness and technology transfer for new products, from design reviews through production launch.
• Define manufacturing requirements, process flows, fixtures, tooling, and test strategy.
• Own PFMEAs and drive manufacturing risk mitigation to closure.
• Define manufacturing test requirements with R&D, Systems Engineering, and Quality.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; serve as SME for manufacturing processes and equipment.
