Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Designer for our New Product Development team in Seven Hills, OH. You will transform concepts into manufacturable product designs, collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams from idea through prototype to production.

You will create precise design documentation, perform 3D CAD modeling (Creo), and develop sheet metal components with tight tolerances to ensure cost-effective production and high quality.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience developing and creating new products in electro-mechanical spaces.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling with Creo and SolidWorks.
• Skilled in BOM preparation, structuring, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into prototypes and pilot designs.
• Develop digital models using 3D CAD to accelerate development cycles.
• Create detailed 3D models and drawings focused on manufacturability and quality.
• Design sheet metal components with proper tolerances for production.
• Recommend cost-effective assembly and fabrication methods.
• Support design reviews with 3D models and documentation.
• Prepare complete documentation for release to manufacturing including BOMs.
