Job summary

Katalyst CRO in Wisconsin seeks a Design Engineer (Creo) to develop concept and detailed designs for automotive components. You will create 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet functional, manufacturability, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities include GD&T, sheet metal and plastic components, PPAP/ECN, design validation, and data management in Windchill/PLM, supporting NPD through manufacturing handoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on Creo design experience for automotive components.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with PPAP, ECN, prototyping and validation is a plus.
• Experience with Windchill/3DEXPERIENCE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed designs using Creo (Part, Assembly, Surfacing)
• Design and model sheet metal and plastic components
• Create and maintain 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Support New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle activities
• Drafting, dimensioning, and tolerancing
• Prototyping and design validation
• Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
• PPAP documentation
• Perform design analysis, stack-up studies, and optimization (VAVE)
• Support tooling, fixture, and gauge design
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Utilize Windchill / PLM systems for data management
• Participate in reverse engineering and design improvements
