Job summary

General Plastics & Composites LP seeks an NPD Machinist III to advance prototypes via CNC and manual machining. You will interpret complex drawings, lead tolerances to 0.0005 inches, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to transition designs toward production.

You will mentor peers, optimize tooling and processes, and perform setup on lathes/mills. This senior role requires minimal supervision and a strong track record in precision machining.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience working with Manual and/or CNC machines.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Excellent tolerance control with experience to 0.0005 inches.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• English language proficiency for instructions and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead fabrication of high-precision prototype components for NPD.
• Set up machines (manual lathes/mills and CNC) for multiple programs.
• Interpret complex drawings and ensure manufacturability of designs.
• Provide mentorship and tooling/process improvement recommendations.
• Maintain clean work area and adhere to safety procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams.
