Job summary

Flowserve US Inc in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for New Product Development in Turbomachinery & Systems to design, develop, test, and commercialize dry gas mechanical seals and auxiliary systems for industrial compressors.

You will drive the full product-development lifecycle from concept through qualification and manufacturing launch, performing analyses, building prototypes, and applying mechatronics and data- acquisition to enhance seal performance and reliability.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
8+ years in rotating equipment, turbomachinery, compressors, or seals.
Experience in mechanical design, engineering analysis, testing, or NPD.

Responsibilities

Develop sealing solutions from concept through commercialization.
Perform analyses using FEA and hand calculations.
Design prototypes, test fixtures, and instrumentation.
Lead lab and product validation test programs and analyze data for design improvements.
Apply fundamentals in fluid dynamics, tribology, materials, thermal effects, and vibration.
Support development of smart/connected sealing technologies and data acquisition.
Create 2D/3D designs, drawings, specs, procedures, and docs.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, PM, Aftermarket, and customers.
